CTV 315: Industrial‑Grade Vertical Turning Center with Expanded Work Envelope
The CTV 315 linear vertical turning center from DMG/Mori Seiki accommodates workpieces measuring 300 mm in diameter and 210 mm in height, and weighing as much as 25 kg. The machine’s larger work envelope provides enough space for the VDI 40 turret with 12 tool stations, as well as additional tools or a milling spindle that can be mounted on an optional function plate. A DirectDrive VDI 50 turret version with driven tools providing speeds ranging to 10,000 rpm is also available. The turning center’s large Z stroke and optional Y travel enable precise machining, while linear drives in the X axis with acceleration rates of 8 m/sec.2 contribute to the machine’s accuracy and dynamics, the company says.
The turning center’s “Stealth” design provides easy access to the work area and automation equipment as well as the integrated 15" Slimline panel. The Operate 4.5 control from Siemens’ 840D line encompasses the machine’s complete automation technology from drives to the CNC control, and offers a uniform user interface for all technologies.
