Yama Seiki GA-2000CR: Compact Turning Center with Advanced Robot Arm & Pallet System

The Goodway GA-2000CR turning center, available from Yama Seiki, is equipped for complex turning applications with a robot arm and pallet system. The compact machine features a built-in, three-axis EWR03 robot arm system with a pendulum-style (swing-type) design. The arm can handle round, disk-type parts ranging to 4.72" in diameter and weighing as much as 11 lbs, and repeated accuracy is ±0.05 mm with the use of an AC servomotor, the company says. The robot arm system is equipped with a 5.7" handheld control and includes a teach mode, data input mode and memory capacity for 10 active programs.

The turning center is equipped with a 12-station tool turret. Live tooling with C axis is available as an option. According to the company, the servo indexing turret achieves 0.2 sec. indexing time for adjacent stations and 0.5 sec. for stations at the opposite end of the disk. Index movements are single-step, without pauses, regardless of how many stations are skipped. High-precision couplings measuring 8.26" (210 mm) in diameter accurately position the turret disk, while 8,800 lbs (4,000 Kg) of clamping force ensures rigidity. The machine is equipped with a 20-hp (30-min.) spindle motor and 8" three-jaw hydraulic chuck, and offers a 2" bar capacity. A 10-station incline-type pallet system enables the machining of varying workpiece sizes without the need to change pallets. A double-layer option is available for longer parts.
