Atlas Copco & CAN'd Aid Team Up to Deliver Clean Water to Communities in Need

Over the last few months, several hurricanes have ravaged the U.S. coast and the island of Puerto Rico, leaving thousands of individuals displaced and without basic necessities. As of Sept. 30, 2017, more than half of Puerto Rico’s population still do not have access to drinking water. These recent environmental disasters have spurred an outpouring of monetary donations with companies, organizations, celebrities and individuals contributing millions of dollars in relief efforts. 

Atlas Copco recently partnered with the CAN’d Aid Foundation to contribute $50,000 towards the non-profit’s clean water initiative, which provides affected communities with safe drinking water. With this donation, CAN’d Aid has been able to supply 96,000 cans of water to victims of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. 

CAN’d Aid began as a disaster-relief effort in response to the 2013 flooding of Lyons and Longmont in Colorado. Since then, the foundation has evolved to include four program areas that support doing good in communities across the U.S.

• TOWNS – rebuilding cities after disasters and providing families with clean drinking water
• TREADS + TRAILS – promoting healthy living and an appreciation for the outdoors
• TUNES – making a difference through music, arts and culture
• LOVE YUR MAMA – paying homage to Mother Earth through local cleanup efforts and the “Crush It Crusade” recycling initiative 

Atlas Copco’s continued partnership with the CAN’d Aid Foundation will open up more opportunities to provide relief to individuals and families who need it most.
