Techniplas Delivers High-Capacity FRP Drinking Water Tanks for Fertilizer Plant
Techniplas (Cabreúva, São Paulo, Brazil), a plastics fabrication company that specializes in tanks and special equipment made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP), reported its production and installation of two FRP reservoirs used to store drinking water. With a diameter of 4.5 meters and a height of 20 meter, each tank has a capacity of 311,000 liters.
Techniplas says the reservoirs were installed in a fertilizer factory located in the interior of São Paulo. “Because this area is subject to strong winds, the tanks were calculated according to the ASME-RTP1 standard. In other words, they support wind loads of up to 144 kilometers per hour,” says Luís Gustavo Rossi, director of Tecniplas.
To be able to store drinking water, the tanks were produced with resins that meet biological safety standards, as required by the Brazilian Ministry of Health.
