Vickers GD5 Gear Pump: Trusted High-Pressure Performance & Reliability
Vickers GD5 Series Gear Pump is one of the most reliable and safe gear pumps from Vickers. This type of pump has two parallel shafts that are connected with gears. The gears are connected to each other by a coupling which rotates at a high speed. The two shafts rotate in opposite directions, so when one shaft is rotating clockwise, the other one rotates counter-clockwise.
The GD5 series gear pump is designed for use in applications where high pressure is required and where the flow rate is not very high. This type of gear pump can handle pressures up to 5000 psi (350 bar). Pumps of this type have an advantage over other types because they have fewer moving parts, which makes them more reliable than other types of pumps.
Vickers GD5 Series Gear Pump is simple, compact, inexpensive and easy to maintain, with a variety of different pressure outlet and shaft ports.
The GD5 series gear pumps have been manufactured by Vickers for over 30 years. The design is based on the original GD2 design that was introduced in 1969. The latest version of this pump is the GD5-155-B. This pump is available with either a 1/4” or 3/8” shaft diameter which makes it suitable for use in either low pressure or high pressure applications.
The GD5 series gear pumps can be used for low pressure applications where a minimum pressure ratio of 2:1 is required, such as water pumping systems or even air conditioning units. High pressure applications include hydraulic systems where pressures up to 250 PSI are required.
With their compact size, these pumps can also be used in confined spaces where space is limited such as under bonnet installations on cars or trucks where space is limited due to engine components being located above them.

Safe and Reliable Vickers GD5 Series Gear Pump
Gear pumps are suitable for lubricating oil system with high pressure, small flow rate and low speed in the power system.
Owing to their compact structure and simple structure, they are widely used in industrial automation, automobile, motorcycle and marine industries. They can also be used for feeding lubricating oil to various mechanical parts such as gearbox, cylinder sleeve and pump shaft of hydraulic machinery.
The gear pumps were developed based on the principle of pump design by Professor Vickers in England in 1914. The series includes single-stage, double-stage and multi-stage gear pumps. The single-stage manual pump is mainly used for supplying lubricating oil in industrial automation and automobile industry; double-stage manual pump is mainly used for supplying lubricating oil to various mechanical parts such as gearbox, cylinder sleeve and pump shaft of hydraulic machinery; multi-stage manual pump has a large output capacity which can meet the needs of large amount oil supply.
IDI gear pump is divided into fixed displacement and variable displacement.
Fixed displacement pump has the same capacity at all the times, while variable displacement pump can change the capacity by changing its speed.
The Vickers GD5 series of high-pressure “gearless” diaphragm pumps are used in a wide range of applications. These pumps have a self-priming feature that allows them to be used where there is no suction available, or where the suction line must be run long distances with no connection to a source of suction pressure. They are available in 5 through 14 sizes, ranging from ½ inch (DN15) to 2 inches (DN50) in bore size and up to 2 inches (DN50) in discharge pipe size. A wide variety of materials and construction methods are used for these pumps including duplex stainless steel, 316 stainless steel, carbon steel and cast iron as well as special coatings such as zinc phosphate or epoxy coatings for corrosion resistance.
Fixed displacement gear pump has the advantage of simple structure, small size, light weight, large flow and good self-priming performance.
The pump body is made of alloy casting or forging. It can be used in corrosive media such as acid and alkali solutions, as well as non-corrosive media such as water, oil, steam and air.
The Vickers GD5 series gear pumps are suitable for industrial applications where high pressures and/or discharge rates are required. The GD5 series gear pumps are available in a wide range of sizes for both low and high pressure applications. These units are available with a variety of shaft configurations including single stage impeller or twin stage impeller configurations with either an integral bearing housing or separate bearing housing assembly. They can also be designed to meet your specific requirements regarding materials of construction, impeller types and discharge configurations.
Vickers GD5 series gear pump is fixed displacement gear pump. Vickers fixed displacement hydraulic gear pump has the advantages of simple structure, small size, light weight, large flow and good self-priming performance.
The pressure is transmitted to the center shaft by a sliding ring pinion, and then through the outer race of the outer rotor to the inner race of the inner rotor. Both rotors are made from high quality alloy steel with hardness above HRC 55-58. The outer race surface of each rotor is provided with a wear resistant resin coating for maximum efficiency and long service life.
The rotors are mounted onto a steel frame using four preloaded ball bearings (two on each side). The ball bearings are located in oil grooves for lubrication and cooling purposes. The drive train consists of a worm wheel coupled to an external gearbox with a ratio of 1:1 or 1:1.6 based on customer requirements. The output shaft can be equipped with different types of flanges according as need by customer.
Vickers GD5 series gear pump is fixed displacement gear pump.
The Vickers GD5 series is a family of fixed displacement gear pumps with a compact design and stainless steel construction. The design of the rotors allows for higher flow rates, and lower shaft speeds, than other similar sized pumps. This results in longer life, lower noise levels and more power per unit volume than other pumps of similar size.
The GD5 series includes five models: GD5-10 (10 liters per minute), GD5-16 (16 liters per minute), GD5-20 (20 liters per minute), GD5-25 (25 liters per minute) and GD5-30 (30 liters per minute).

Safe and Reliable Vickers GD5 Series Gear Pump
Vickers GD5 Series Pump has the advantages of simple structure, small size, light weight, large flow and good self-priming performance.
The series of Vickers GD5 Gear Pumps is a kind of fixed displacement gear pump, the displacement is constant (usually 300cc), the discharge pressure is constant (usually 2MPa). The body material is cast iron, the impeller is made of bronze alloy. The fluid enters from the side and flows through the impeller axially, while rotating at high speed. A fixed amount of fluid will be discharged per revolution from the outlet port.
Vickers GD5 Series Gear Pumps are widely used in various industries such as chemical industry, papermaking industry, food processing industry, power plant cooling tower system etc., for conveying water or other non-aggressive liquids with medium viscosity.
A Vickers gear pump offers an efficient way to move fluids, making them a popular component in many industry applications. Whether you are seeking a paddle-wheel design or one equipped with helical gears, Vickers has the designs that can help you meet your custom needs.
