Vickers PVB Series Piston Pumps: Design, Features, and Industrial Applications

Vickers PVB Series Piston Pumps are designed for use on a wide variety of industrial applications including food and beverage processing, chemical processing, power generation and marine applications. They are available in both a single-acting or double-acting version with an operating pressure range from 9 to 60 bar (130 to 830 psi).

A single-acting piston pump has one moving part – the piston – and operates by drawing fluid into the pump through a suction port located at the top of the cylinder. The piston moves down within the cylinder displacing fluid that is discharged through a discharge port located at the bottom of the cylinder.

In contrast, a double acting piston pump is similar in operation to its single acting counterpart, but has two pistons operating within each cylinder in order to achieve greater displacement. This design allows for greater efficiency when working against viscous fluids such as sludge or pulp slurries.

A family of Vickers PVB Series Piston Pumps is a group of components that are identical except for the displacement and pressure ratings.

The basic design of these pumps consists of a single-acting cylinder with a piston that is moved by the fluid flowing through it. The pistons are made from cast iron for strength, durability and low cost. The pistons are connected to the motor shaft by a ball bearing at each end, which eliminates wear and noise problems associated with sleeve bearings.

The body of each pump is made up of two sections: an upper section and a lower section. The upper section contains three ports: one inlet port, one outlet port and one pressure port (see Figure 1). The lower section contains two ports: one suction port and one discharge port (see Figure 2).

The upper section has an integral impeller hub attached to its bottom side. The impeller hub has an opening through which the discharge pipe passes so that it can be attached to the discharge port on the lower section (see Figure 1).

Vickers PVB Series Piston Pumps: Design, Features, and Industrial Applications

Understanding Vickers PVB Series Piston Pumps

PVB is an axial piston pump with variable displacement and a swashplate design.

PVB is an axial piston pump with variable displacement and a swashplate design. This design allows the pump to be used in both positive and negative displacement pumping applications. The PVB Series has been designed specifically for industrial and commercial applications that require a variable displacement pump.

Vickers PVB Series Piston Pumps are available in many configurations, including vertical shaft, horizontal shaft, and inline models. These pumps are available with standard wet end options such as self-priming, non-clog, dry start, etc. Custom wet ends can also be provided upon request.

The series can generate a maximum pressure of 2250 psi (155 bar) with only 1 gpm (3.7 L/min) of oil flow.

The PVB is designed to be the most compact, efficient, and cost effective piston pump in the industry. It is available in both high speed and low speed models. The PVB has a novel design that allows for extremely high performance at low speeds. This means that it can be used in many applications where other pumps cannot deliver enough pressure or flow rate.

The PVB is also very flexible in terms of its ability to handle different fluids and chemicals. The piston and cylinder are made from cast iron, which provides a long life span while maintaining high pressure capabilities over time. Cast iron also has excellent thermal conductivity characteristics, allowing for faster heat dissipation during operation. The PVB comes standard with stainless steel pistons and cylinders but can also be ordered with Hastelloy C-276 components for increased chemical resistance if required by your application

The hydraulic fluids used should be ISO 32, 46 or 68 grade at viscosities in the range of 8 to 950 centistokes.

Vickers PVB Series Piston Pumps are designed with a compact design that provides high performance, durability and reliability. The pumps are available in stainless steel, carbon steel and aluminum materials. The PVB Series Piston Pumps can be used for various applications including construction equipment, agricultural equipment and mining equipment.

A pump’s flow characteristics are affected by the swashplate angle, eccentricity, cylinder length and diameter, control mechanism and case drain pressure.

Vickers PVB Series Piston Pumps are designed to meet the requirements of most industrial applications in the chemical, food, pharmaceutical and power generation industries. The pumps are available in a variety of shaft sizes and configurations to fit into your application requirements.

The PVB Series is offered in three different configurations: single-stage (SP), two-stage (TP) or three-stage (TP3). The PVB Series can be configured with a choice of diaphragms or piston designs. Vickers PVB Series pumps are also available in metric sizes for those who require ISO 5774 compliance.

Displacement is obtained by rotating the swashplate, which changes the pump’s cylinder bore size.

The PVB series of piston pumps are suitable for water treatment, irrigation and other industrial applications. The PVB series is available in two types: single acting and double acting with two pistons. Both types can be mounted horizontally or vertically with a choice of either mechanical or hydraulic control. The single acting version has an end suction design and the double acting version has an inlet suction design.

The PVB series has a compact design that provides good efficiency at low speeds and high pressure capability. It is also compact enough to fit into tight locations whether they are vertical or horizontal orientations which means they will fit into any piping system without having to be modified or having extra pipe fittings added to allow room for conventional gear pumps.

No adjustment is needed between cavitation and maximum pressure to achieve the specified operating limits.

The PVB series of positive displacement pumps are designed for high-vacuum applications where the power required is small. This line of positive displacement pumps is available with a mounting flange for mounting the pump directly to an external backing plate or baseplate. The PVB Series consists of three standard sizes: 5 cc/rev, 10 cc/rev and 15 cc/rev. The pump shafts are precision ground, hardened and ground-finished to assure long life under heavy duty conditions. The seals are made from high quality materials that provide excellent seal life with minimal friction loss at low speeds.

Vickers PVB Series Piston Pumps: Design, Features, and Industrial Applications

Understanding Vickers PVB Series Piston Pumps

Accurate control and a minimum number of wear parts give Vickers PVB Series Pumps a long service life even under continuous use conditions.

The PVB series is designed for pumping all types of liquids, including those containing solids and abrasive materials, as well as liquids containing large amounts of dissolved air. The PVB pump can also be used for free-flowing liquids such as steam, with no risk of cavitation or erosion damage.

The PVB series can be used in both horizontal and vertical installations. In the horizontal configuration, the shaft seal is located on the suction side of the pump where it is subjected to high pressures and temperatures; therefore it requires special sealing grease which meets ASTM D1886 standards.

All in all, the PVB series is a strong and powerful pump that is not going to disappoint you or your machinery. It’s reliable, effective, and affordable as well. We definitely recommend it as an integral part of any machining solution!
