Würth Electronics expands its sensor portfolio with the WSEN‑ITDS, a compact 3‑axis MEMS accelerometer that fits into a 2.0 × 2.0 × 0.7 mm LGA package.
Built on a capacitive MEMS architecture, the device incorporates a temperature sensor that automatically calibrates the output data. Four selectable measurement ranges—±2, ±4, ±8, and ±16 g—allow precise tailoring to any application. By configuring register settings, developers can enable a suite of ready‑to‑use features such as free‑fall detection, wake‑up, tap, activity, motion, and orientation detection.
Its high‑resolution output can reach 1,600 Hz, making it ideal for vibration monitoring and predictive maintenance of machinery. In low‑power mode, the sensor can capture a single pulse—perfect for switch‑touch detection—and can even operate from energy‑harvesting sources.
Integrated digital algorithms preprocess the measurements, simplifying application development. The WSEN‑ITDS operates from –40 °C to +85 °C, ensuring reliable performance in industrial environments and decentralized IoT networks.
