Honeywell Expands Safety Suite with Acquisition of Rebellion Photonics

Honeywell has announced the acquisition of Rebellion Photonics, a Houston‑based company that delivers intelligent gas‑monitoring solutions to enhance safety, operational performance, emissions mitigation and regulatory compliance across the oil, gas, petrochemical and power sectors.

The deal will be integrated into Honeywell’s Safety and Productivity Solutions division, which supplies a broad range of gas‑detection hardware, protective gear, mobility solutions and software designed to keep employees safe and productive. Rebellion’s technology will also be deployed through Honeywell’s Performance Materials and Technologies unit to help process‑manufacturing customers elevate safety standards and meet compliance requirements.

Founded in 2009, Rebellion offers a gas cloud‑imaging system that couples high‑resolution cameras with hyperspectral imaging to precisely locate a leak source and quantify gas volume and concentration. The company also provides real‑time fire detection and continuous surveillance monitoring to safeguard plants and infrastructure.
