GE Completes Acquisition of SmartSignal, Strengthening Remote Monitoring & Predictive Diagnostics
GE Intelligent Platforms announced on January 6 the completion of its acquisition of SmartSignal, a Lisle, Ill., analytics software firm that specializes in remote monitoring and diagnostics for power generation, oil & gas, and other industrial sectors.
SmartSignal is a leading provider of predictive diagnostic software and monitoring services that anticipate, prevent, and avoid equipment failure. The company holds more than 40 product and technology patents and has earned over 25 awards for product excellence.

SmartSignal detects abnormal equipment behavior and provides exception-based notifications, diagnoses, and prioritizations. Its solutions are device‑agnostic and deployed on equipment from GE, Siemens, Rolls‑Royce, Alstom, Flowserve, Waukesha, Byron Jackson, Cooper‑Bessemer, and others.
