PRF Composite Materials (Dorset, U.K.) introduced on Sept. 14 its unidirectional (UD) glass prepreg product.
Available in weights from 150 to 600 g/m2 and widths between 300-600 mm, PRF says its high-quality unidirectional glass is now in manufacture on its RP542-4 epoxy prepreg system. Designed by PRF as an intermediately-toughened system, and complementing its RP542-1 and toughened RP549 systems, RP542-4 is said to be producing excellent results on UD carbon and glass fibers, as well as woven fabrics.
According to the company, the product is often selected for high-end, visual-based applications due to surface quality.
Further, PRF notes that for 2020/2021, it is continuing to invest in significant upgrades and additions to its manufacturing and R&D lab facilities, with innovative product development remaining a central focus for the company.
