SAE J403 Grade 1010: Low‑Carbon Steel for Precise Machining & Heat‑Treating

SAE 1010 is a plain steel steel that has a low carbon content. The properties of SAE 1010 mean that it can be fairly easily machined and formed. The mechanical properties may be improved via heat treatment. Typically not considered a common steel.
