EN 10326 S280GD Cold Rolled Steel – Premium High-Grade Structural Steel
The structural steel (non-alloy high-grade steel) S280GD is deliverable with following hot-dip coatings: S280GD+Z (coating Zn), S280GD+ZF (coating Zn-Fe), S280GD+ZA (coating Zn-Al), S280GD+AZ (coating Al-Zn), S280GD+AS (coating Al-Si). The coating mass for Z amounts to 100, 140, 200, (225), 275, 350*, (450)* and (600)* g/m², for ZF to 100 and 140** g/m², for ZA to 95, 130, 185, 200, 255 and 300* g/m², for AZ it amounts to 100, 150 and 185 g/m², for AS it amounts to 60, 80, 100, (120) and (150) g/m². The parenthesis values are deliverable after arrangement the values are in each case both side minimum values (three-faced specimen). The * marked values are not deliverable for the surface types B and C and the ** marked values are not deliverable for the surface type C (see also DIN EN 10326). The advantages in opposite to the hot-dip galvanising are: - higher corrosion resistance - excellent forming behaviour - low crack susceptibility of the coating The material has a min. yield point of 280 N/mm² and is used for construction parts with high strength and high corrosion resistance. The coated steel is weldable with the usual methods. Furthermore are given the adhesive suitability and the coatability with organic materials, in each case after a previous suitable surface treatment. Application: household appliances industry, construction industry, furniture industry, electrical engineering, automotive engineering
