EN 10208-2 Grade L245MB Thermomechanically Rolled Steel Pipe for Flammable Media
Steel L245MB is produced as welded pipe for flammable media in condition thermomechanically rolled. Its yield stress is between 245 and 440 N/mm². The steel is weldable, its carbon equivalent CEV accounts for max. 0.40. To the welding seam (welding methods SAW, COW) applies a mandrel-diameter for the bending test of 3x nominal thickness of the pipe. Pipes are available with interior and exterior coating. Main fields of application are long-distance pipelines for flammable liquids (e.g. crude oil and natural gas products) as well as for compressed and liquefied flammable gases. Pipes acc. to DIN EN 10208-2 : 1996-08 also fulfil the conditions decisive for the consumption acc. to standards 5L, 5LX and 5LS of the American Petroleum Institute (API). When using these pipes has to be considered the Technical rule for flammable liquids (Technische Regel für brennbare FlüssigkeitenTRbF 301).
