Advanced Heavy-Duct Fabrication with Multi-Layered Construction

Badger Sheet Metal Works’ excels with custom fabrication capabilities

Badger Sheet Metal Works’ ability to provide heavy ductwork fabrication services using a variety of materials sets it apart from metal fabrication shops that are more limited in their scope of capabilities. Customers in a variety of industries depend us for ductwork ranging from simple, light-gauge designs to complex, insulated projects.

Heavy ductwork fabrication typically refers to custom fabrication in which the ductwork sections are large enough to require bolts to hold them in place. Larger ductwork sections can reach 18 feet in length and include supports and enclosed insulation cavities.

The heavy-duty production equipment present in our main production bay, including twin 15-ton cranes, make virtually any size of heavy ductwork fabrication project within our capabilities possible.

Heavy ductwork fabrication benefits from stainless steel expertise

Companies in the paper and automotive industries are the most common customers for heavy ductwork fabrication projects. Their environments require safe and efficient handling of hot air, fumes, gases and other airborne compounds that cannot be released into the workplace.

Heavy ductwork fabrication can feature heavier gauge materials such as COR-TEN® steel as well as lighter-weight material such as 304 stainless and 316 stainless steels. Stainless steel is commonly used when corrosion resistance is a requirement.

Badger Sheet Metal Works is one of the few metal fabrication and welding shops that has a dedicated space for our stainless steel operations. The dedicated stainless room allows our team to generate superior results from TIG welding operations. We use TIG welding for more detailed work than is possible with the quicker MIG welding technique.
