Tiny Pilot: Affordable 3D‑Printed KVM‑over‑IP Remote Management Solutions

Download as PDF

Launched in July 2020, Massachusetts‑based Tiny Pilot delivers a low‑cost, user‑friendly remote‑management platform that eliminates the need for pricey, restrictive, and often unreliable Java‑based solutions. Founder and developer Michael Lynch engineered a kernel‑based virtual machine (KVM) over IP device that can be integrated into any server infrastructure.

After receiving a surge of demand for pre‑built units, Michael founded Tiny Pilot and partnered with the Advanced Digital Design and Fabrication Core (ADDFab) at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. ADDFab’s collaboration focused on designing and 3D‑printing robust, professional‑grade cases and USB ports using Onyx One and Mark Two printers, both utilizing Onyx carbon‑fiber material for superior durability and surface finish.

Thanks to ADDFab’s rapid‑prototyping capabilities, Tiny Pilot can now offer a fully manufactured product that meets high quality standards while remaining affordable and scalable for enterprise deployment.
