Geekplus Deploys 436 Autonomous Mobile Robots Across Toyota Plants, Boosting Logistics Efficiency

Geekplus has deployed its moving-type Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) at multiple Toyota Motor Corporation factories in Japan, totaling 436 units in operation.

Each plant runs approximately 200 AMRs per system, a scale that underscores Toyota’s commitment to automating in‑plant logistics amid a nationwide labor shortage and tightening truck‑driver regulations.

Geekplus was chosen for its highly adaptable system design, which allows seamless integration into existing workflows and significantly reduces the physical demands on plant staff. The AMRs autonomously transport goods from inbound receiving through picking and processing zones, replacing manual transport tasks and delivering measurable labor savings and productivity gains.

Beyond efficiency, the robots enhance workplace safety by minimizing conflicts between forklifts and towing vehicles. They also generate real‑time inventory‑movement data, providing clear visibility into supply‑chain flows and enabling proactive operational decisions.
