Negri Bossi Unveils Nova eT: The Next‑Gen All‑Electric Packaging Machines
Negri Bossi (U.S. office in New Castle, Delaware) unveiled its fourth‑generation all‑electric packaging machines, the Nova eT series, at NPE 2018 in Orlando, Florida. The flagship 180‑metric‑ton unit demonstrates the company’s capability to mold four food‑container lids with in‑mold labeling in just 3 seconds, powered by a side‑entry robot from sister company Sytrama, which also operates in New Castle.
While details were scarce before the show, the Nova eT line spans 50–350 metric tons. It features a next‑generation Tactum touchscreen that supports multi‑touch gestures such as swipe and scroll. The Smart Flex 2 toggle clamp incorporates a geometry optimized for electric actuation. Multicolor injection is available via dedicated all‑electric injection units. Negri Bossi reports energy savings of up to 80 % versus conventional hydraulic drives.
