Advanced Three-Material Molding Using Foamed and Solid LSR on Canbio sT Servo‑Hydraulic Toggle Line

Displayed at the Negri Bossi booth, the Canbio sT servo‑hydraulic toggle line—capable of 180‑to‑500 metric‑ton force—has just entered the North American market. The line’s modular design is paired with a Tactus controller featuring a 21.5‑inch touchscreen and an integrated energy‑consumption monitor. In a live demo, a 180‑m.t. two‑shot machine, equipped with a third auxiliary injector, produced a ping‑pong paddle that integrates three distinct materials (four if counted separately).

The paddle’s rigid core is made of PBT and is formed by the main horizontal injector. A smaller vertical injector creates the soft‑touch TPU handle. Liquid silicone is supplied directly from Guzzini Engineering’s "Easy‑Balance LSR" unit, which overmolds the paddle’s ball‑control faces in two densities: a firmer surface in solid LSR and a softer, microcellular foamed LSR side. A six‑axis robot from Sytrama—Canbio’s sister company—manages part handling.
