Metro Mold & Design Expands Production Capacity with Four New Engel Presses
Metro Mold & Design (MMD) in Rogers, Minnesota, recently expanded its production capacity by adding three hybrid Engel injection‑molding presses and a new Victory Engel 340‑ton press. The company cited a confidential, high‑value project as the catalyst for this $4 million investment, which also covered high‑speed Ilsemann automation technology.
With the upgrades, MMD now operates 26 injection‑molding machines ranging from 60 to 720 tons, alongside six blow‑molding presses and 10 thermoset presses, all housed within its 127,000‑sq‑ft facility.
“As demand for personal‑care products accelerates, we are embracing highly automated, long‑run projects,” said a company spokesperson. The new Engel machines are fully integrated with Ilsemann Automation’s high‑speed robotics and automation within dedicated work cells, ensuring precision and efficiency.
