Jacobs Secures 2.5‑Year Engineering Contract with LyondellBasell for Dutch Polyolefins Plants

On February 2, Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. announced that it has won a 2.5‑year contract to deliver engineering services for LyondellBasell’s advanced polyolefins plants at Botlek and Maasvlakte in the Netherlands. The agreement will support plant changes and a range of small projects aimed at improving efficiency and reducing energy consumption.

While the contract value was not disclosed, Jacobs will provide services from its nearby office in Hoogvliet, underscoring the company’s commitment to close collaboration with its client.

LyondellBasell, headquartered in Rotterdam, is the largest producer and marketer of polypropylene and polyethylene in the region and operates six production sites across Western and Eastern Europe. With combined annual revenues of $50.7 billion in 2008 and a global workforce of over 15,000 employees, the company remains one of the world’s largest independent chemical and polymer producers.
