GE Unveils Durus Plus: Enhanced Low‑End Controller for Reliable Industrial Control
GE Intelligent Platforms has announced the launch of the Durus Plus controller, a compact, rugged solution that expands the capabilities of the proven Durus family. With integrated I/O, a full operator interface, and advanced control functions, the Durus Plus delivers a versatile, low‑end controller ideal for demanding industrial environments.
"Typical applications for the Durus Plus would be lighting control, conveyor control, water level control or motor monitoring where the unit can replace timers and counters for increased reliability," says Bill Black, Controllers Product Manager at GE Intelligent Platforms. "The Durus family brings a strong, sturdy design that integrates I/O, operator interface and control in one small package."
Designed to withstand harsh conditions, the Durus controllers feature a durable enclosure, a built‑in operator interface, a broad range of communication options, expansion slots, and a secure slide‑and‑snap interlock for expansion modules. Their competitive pricing gives users greater flexibility when selecting a controller.
Key features include an intuitive built‑in display and keypad, high‑current outputs, multiple communication protocols, and free programming software. The new Durus Plus builds on the Durus platform by adding:
- 12‑line by 16‑character display for clearer information presentation
- Memory expanded to 300 lines of ladder logic and 260 function‑block diagram blocks
- Additional function blocks such as Add/Subtract, Multiply/Divide, PID, Data Multiplexer, Analog Out Ramp, and Data Move to broaden programming options
