Mouser Now Stocks Maxim's DS2477 DeepCover Secure Coprocessor – Advanced Device Authentication
Mouser Electronics now carries Maxim Integrated’s DS2477 DeepCover secure coprocessor, a cutting‑edge solution for safeguarding industrial automation, medical sensors, and IoT devices.
The DS2477 is a secure I²C coprocessor that also functions as a 1‑Wire master. It delivers FIPS202‑compliant SHA‑3 challenge‑and‑response authentication while leveraging Maxim’s patented ChipDNA technology to create a tamper‑resistant cryptographic foundation.
ChipDNA produces a unique, physically unclonable identifier derived from random variations that arise naturally during wafer fabrication. The identifier is stable across temperature, voltage, and time, yet any attempt to observe or manipulate the circuit alters its characteristics, making the value impossible to duplicate or reverse‑engineer.
By embedding the ChipDNA output into its cryptographic routines, the DS2477 protects all data stored on the device, providing a cost‑effective, end‑to‑end shield against a wide range of security attacks.
