Distec Introduces Ortustech’s 7‑inch Transflective TFT Display: Rugged, Sunlight‑Readable, Low‑Power
Distec proudly expands its portfolio with Ortustech’s COM70H7M24ULC—a transflective 7‑inch TFT display engineered for flawless readability in harsh environments. Leveraging the latest Blanview technology, the panel delivers exceptional contrast and true‑color reproduction while maintaining low power draw, even under direct sunlight and without a backlight. To streamline integration, Distec offers the IF420‑00 adapter board, which bridges the display’s LVDS interface to standard LVDS and backlight controls, and can be supplied pre‑assembled on the display as a turnkey solution. Built to withstand temperatures from ‑30 °C to +85 °C and vibrations up to 6.8 G, this rugged display is ideal for mobile industrial, agricultural, and construction applications.
The compact panel offers a WVGA resolution of 800 × 480 pixels and a peak brightness of 400 cd/m². Its integrated LED backlight is rated for 100,000 hours, equating to over 11 years of continuous use before the light output falls to 50 % of its original level. With an operating temperature range of ‑30 °C to +85 °C, the display thrives in extreme cold and heat, making it the optimal choice for mobile devices and outdoor deployments. An optional tempered‑glass cover guards the glass against scratches, blocks dust ingress, and can be cleaned with standard agents without damage.
The panel communicates over a flex cable using an LVDS interface. To simplify integration, Distec’s IF420‑00 adapter board converts the display’s LVDS signals into a conventional LVDS format and adds an on‑board LED backlight driver, enabling straightforward connection to a graphics controller. The IF420‑00 is compatible with both the COM70H7M24ULC and Ortustech’s 5‑inch COM50H5N01ULC. Distec can also supply the adapter pre‑mounted on the display’s rear, delivering a plug‑and‑play solution.
