Rutronik Offers Ultra‑Low‑Power, Multi‑Protocol SoCs from Redpine Signals

Rutronik UK now stocks Redpine Signals’ RS9116 family—ultra‑low‑power, multi‑protocol wireless SoCs and modules designed for battery‑operated IoT. Whether you choose the hosted nLink or embedded WiSeConnect firmware, the RS9116 supports SDIO, USB, SPI, and UART host interfaces, giving engineers maximum flexibility when integrating Wi‑Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n/j), dual‑mode Bluetooth 5, and Thread/ZigBee (802.15.4) into the same chip.

Its built‑in protocol arbitration manager keeps all radio functions in sync, while the SoC’s architecture delivers the industry’s lowest Wi‑Fi standby current—under 50 µA. That translates into 3–4× longer battery life for devices such as security cameras, smart locks, video doorbells, industrial sensors, and location tags compared with competing solutions.

Security is built in: the RS9116 complies with FIPS 140‑2 and incorporates a physically unclonable function (PUF) for tamper‑resistant cryptographic keys, ensuring a highly secure wireless stack for mission‑critical IoT deployments.

Modules come in footprint‑compatible form factors, with single‑band packages measuring just 4.63 × 7.90 mm and dual‑band units at 9.1 × 9.8 mm. The small size frees board real estate for other components, while the modular design allows easy migration across product lines.
