Yamaichi Electronics Demonstrates CEI‑112G Interoperability at ECOC 2019

At ECOC 2019, Yamaichi Electronics, alongside 11 other OIF member companies, will showcase a live Physical‑ and Link‑Layer interoperability demo at the Optical Internetworking Forum’s booth. The event highlights Yamaichi’s cutting‑edge electrical interface solutions, notably the CEI‑112G‑VSR‑PAM4, which are pivotal for next‑generation global networks.

Yamaichi’s portfolio includes OSFP, QSFP, and QSFP‑DD connectors renowned for exceptional electrical performance. The QSFP‑DD, engineered for 200 G and 400 G platforms, supports 28 Gbps/NRZ and 56 Gbps/PAM4 per channel, while also ensuring signal integrity at the ambitious 112 Gbps/PAM4 data rate.

Together with Yamaichi, OIF is spearheading the transition to 112 Gbps per differential pair through rigorous electrical interface specifications. The CEI‑112G‑VSR‑PAM4 live demo at the OIF booth will showcase multi‑party silicon supplier interoperability across mated compliance‑board channels, full host‑to‑module links, and direct‑attach copper cables. These demonstrations confirm the technical viability of 112 Gbps operation and feature Yamaichi’s OSFP and QSFP‑DD form factors.
