Schneider Electric Ventures Launches €300‑500 M Fund to Accelerate Industrial IoT Startups
ATLANTA — At its Innovation Summit North America, Schneider Electric announced the launch of Schneider Electric Ventures, a €300‑500 million fund designed to evaluate, incubate, and guide industrial technology startups toward successful exits, whether through IPOs or acquisitions.
Rooted in a 2010 partnership with Aster Capital, the venture arm has already assessed around 200 ideas, incubated seven projects, and helped launch three new companies. At this summit, Schneider committed to investing in six additional startups.
Key portfolio companies include Sense, which installs a device in homeowners’ electric panels to monitor energy use and solar production, backed by an $18 million round led by Schneider; Element Analytics, an industrial big‑data analytics firm that has raised $22 million to date; Habiteo, a French software provider that lets building owners visualize and sell properties before construction; Qmerit, offering a cloud‑based supply chain management platform; KGS Buildings, which delivers predictive maintenance solutions; and Claroty, a cybersecurity firm focused on operations technology.
Other initiatives highlighted at the summit include eIQ Mobility, Schneider’s electric‑fleet-as‑a‑service spin‑off that aggregates data from fleets, EV models, facilities, and utilities; Clipsal Solar, a subsidiary that partners with customers to manage on‑grid and off‑grid energy use in Australia; and Greentown Labs Bold, a startup accelerator that offers talent, resources, and business grants.
In his keynote, CEO Jean‑Pascal Tricoire emphasized that the venture fund, combined with the company’s €1 billion annual R&D spend, will position Schneider at the forefront of the transition from fossil fuels to a greener, electrified economy. Schneider is committed to becoming carbon neutral by 2030 and is actively recruiting developers and integrators to build applications on its Ecostruxure IoT platform, ensuring that portfolio companies can seamlessly connect to this ecosystem.
