Over the past year, the Technical University of Munich’s student rocketry team WARR celebrated the successful flight of a student‑built Type 5 composite pressure vessel, which rode aboard an EX‑4C rocket at the European Rocketry Challenge (EuRoC) 2025. The vessel was designed and manufactured in close partnership with Taniq of Rotterdam, using the company’s TaniqWind Pro filament‑winding software.

The pressure vessel was produced at Taniq’s Rotterdam facility after WARR integrated TaniqWind Pro into its winding workflow over roughly one year. The software’s advanced path‑programming capabilities enabled the team to optimize composite geometry beyond what had been possible before, resulting in a lightweight yet robust structure that met stringent flight‑worthiness criteria.

During flight, the vessel performed flawlessly, confirming both the design methodology and the manufacturing standards employed. WARR’s experience demonstrates how cutting‑edge winding software, coupled with expert fabrication, can transform highly optimized composite concepts into proven flight hardware.

Beyond this achievement, the project underscores Taniq’s commitment to supporting university rocketry initiatives as a critical pathway for training the next generation of aerospace engineers.
