Addcomposites Introduces Advanced Tape Winding Capability in Finland

At our Finland facility, we have expanded our manufacturing portfolio with state‑of‑the‑art tape‑winding technology. This new capability empowers designers and manufacturers to validate innovative concepts and create cutting‑edge prototypes for presentations, stakeholder demos, or early‑stage production runs.

Why Choose Tape Winding Over Traditional Fiber Winding?

Tape winding offers a new level of design freedom and functional advantages:

Getting Started

To streamline your collaboration with Addcomposites, please contact Pravin or James. Sharing preliminary information—such as CAD drawings or schematic sketches and detailed layer/fiber‑orientation plans—will enable us to protect your IP under NDA and prepare a tailored pilot plan.

Cost Structure

Our tape‑winding pilot studies are provided at no charge to encourage experimentation with new ideas. Should the project advance to full pilot production, standard material and labor rates will apply.

Other Trial Locations

We partner with industry leaders who can replicate tape‑winding trials elsewhere. Currently, SAM‑XL and Compositadour offer comparable services using a 7‑axis rotational positioner. If you’re interested in expanding your local composite capabilities, contact us to explore partnership opportunities.

About Addcomposites

Addcomposites supplies the AFP‑XS Automated Fiber Placement system, available on a flexible monthly rental basis. The system supports thermoset, thermoplastic, dry‑fiber placement, and integrated 3‑D printing workflows.
