Windform FR2: Flame‑Retardant, Glass‑Fiber Reinforced Material for Selective Laser Sintering

CRP Technology’s Windform FR2 is a flame retardant, halogen-free polyamide-based glass fiber reinforced material, which combines improved wear resistance and temperature resistance.

The FR2 is not electrically conductive and enables good detail resolution with a smoother surface finish when compared to Windform FR1, the company says. It is suitable for aerospace applications, automotive parts (casings of electrical and electronic components, housing and enclosure assemblies), consumer goods (lighting, appliances) or any part that requires flame retardancy.

Windform FR2 passed the FAR 25.853 12-second vertical and 15-second horizontal flammability tests as well as the 45° Bunsen burner test and smoke density test.
