DIN 17740 LC‑Ni99.6 (Soft‑Annealed) – High‑Purity Nickel Alloy for Corrosion‑Resistant Applications

The material LC-Ni99.6 with the material number 2.406 is applied in the form of strips, sheets, tubes, bars, wires and forgings for corrosion-resistant construction components, built-in parts for light bulbs and thermionic valves. It is similar to the material LC-Ni99, yet with a minor change in the chemical composition in order to increase the purity. In comparison to Ni99.2 or Ni99.6, the carbon content is lower and prevents embrittlement by intergranular carbon at temperatures of more than 315 °C and reduces the hardness, too, so that LC-Ni99.6 is especially suitable for cold-formed parts. Typical fields of application are sodium hydroxyde production (evaporators), the chlorine production (membrane cell cathodes) as well as the production of vinyl-chloride monomers (VCM), hydrogen chloride, soap and washing agents. Wide application in the food processing, too. Processing properties: Formability: very good Weldability: good
