X3CrNiMo17-13-3 Grade Steel (Quenched +Q) – DIN 17440 Certified for Pressure Vessels

The for pressure vessels approved material X3CrNiMo17-13-3, mat. no. 1.4436, has an similar corrosion behaviour like the X5CrNiMo17-12-2 (1.4401). Because of its higher amount of Mo its better resistant to selective corrosion. The steel is resistant to intercrystalline corrosion in the delivery condition up to 6 mm thickness or up to 40 mm diameter, in the welded condition the corrosion resistance is varying because of chemical composition and the welding conditions. Acc. DIN 17440 : 1996-09 it is used for flat products and rods and drawn wire and acc. DIN 17441 : 1997-02 for cold rolled strips and slit strips for pressure vessels. The limiting application temperature (operating time 100000 h, no intercrystalline corrosion) amounts to 300 degrees C. For the application acc. DIN 17440 : 1985-07 (X 5 CrNiMo 17 13 3) resp. acc. DIN EN 10088-1,-2,-3 : 1995-08 (X3CrNiMo17-13-3) applies: application for acid resistant apparatus in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, cellulose industry, textile industry.
