EN 12166 Grade CuZn37 H00 – Superior Cold‑Formed Copper Alloy
CuZn37 (CW508L) is an unhardenable wrought alloy. High hardness and strength parameter are achievable by cold forming only. Thermal and electrical conductivity are lower than for CuZn36. CuZn37 is the main alloy for cold forming. It shows favorable corrosion resistance to fresh water. Processing properties: warm forming: good cold forming: very good machinability: moderately hard soldering: good soft soldering: very good TIG-welding: moderately burnishing: very good CuZn37 is used for bulb bases, wire clamps for aerial lines, contact springs, metal and wooden screws, print roller and zip fastener. For the electrolytically tinned strip the coatings (Sn bright, Sn matt, Sn fuzed, SnPb) are listed by the application (better solderability, better corrosion resistance, reduction of the electrical contact resistance, better appearance) in the DIN EN 14436 : 2004-11 (Table 5)
