EN 10088‑1 Grade X17CrNi16‑2 – Quenched & Tempered (QT800) – High‑Performance Stainless Steel
Material X17CrNi16-2 is comparable to X 20 CrNi 17-2 acc. to DIN 17440 : 1985-07. It is a heat treatable 17 per cent Cr-steel with high resistance to water, weak acids and bases as well as to stronger oxidizing acids (e.g. nitric acid). Application for high-stress machine components in pump and compressor construction, shipbuilding, food soap and acetic acid industry. Favorable operating characteristics and abrasion resistance. The steel is suitable for mirror finishing. Different heat treating grades should be chosen for parts sliding on each other, otherwise risk of seizing. Application temperature -40 to 550 °C (for the comparable DIN-material)
