EN 10272 X17CrNi16-2 Stainless Steel – Quenched & Tempered (QT800) for Pressure Vessel Rods

The martensitic steel grade X17CrNi16-2 acc. to DIN EN 10272 : 2001-01 is used for hot and cold formed rods for pressure vessels. The material is a heat treatable 17 per cent chrom steel with favorable resistance to water, weak acids and bases as well as to stronger oxidizing acids (e.g. nitrous acid). It shows favorable running properties and abrasion resistance, it is also suitable for mirror finishing. For components sliding on top of each other should be chosen different tempering grades, otherwise risk of seizing.
