ACMA Unveils 2020 Thermoplastic Composites Conference Program

A detailed conference program, including speaker and session descriptions, has been released by the American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA; Arlington, Va., U.S.) for its Thermoplastic Composites Conference 2020.

The event, which will take place April 29 – May 1, 2020 at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla at Aventine, is a new education event that explores the latest applications and technologies for high-performance thermoplastic composites. The event will host more than 200 industry professionals and more than 20 exhibitors and sponsors in a marketplace showcasing the industry’s innovative solutions in products and services.

The two-day event will share new applications and best practices from industry leaders who have:

• designed, simulated and modeled materials, parts and processes for improved manufacturability;
• reduced material costs for both current and next-generation raw and intermediary, while maintaining quality and capacity for scale-up;
• and optimized process automation to reduce the number of manufacturing steps and improve processing reliability and consistency.

The conference program will feature several panels. Keynote presenter Randy Wilkerson, technical fellow at Boeing, will share the latest processes and applications for thermoplastic composites in aerospace and aviation.

Additionally, the conference will feature two exclusive facility tours of companies using thermoplastic materials, allowing attendees to see how these companies use technology and new applications to incorporate thermoplastic materials into their production. Attendees will also have the opportunity to share and learn from each other and leading industry experts during several networking receptions and coffee breaks with exhibitors.
