Ekoa Bio-Based Composite Veneers Now in Production – Sustainable, Lightweight, and Durable
Lingrove has started producing its next generation product: 99.7% bio-based Ekoa veneer. These products offer the lightweight strength of composites and higher environmental resistance than wood, with sustainability that exceeds both conventional composites and wood. Ekoa bio-based composite veneers offer a real alternative to clearing the earth’s remaining rain forests and old-growth trees, while delivering the warmth, look and feel of wood. Made with recyclable bio-based thermoplastics and natural flax fiber reinforcement, these amazingly strong and durable, pre-finished natural grain veneers are being developed into a variety of products for applications in walls, ceilings, furniture and vehicle interiors.
Lingrove’s award-winning Ekoa composite veneers are available for pre-order with shipments beginning in later October, 2019. Interested companies can request samples.
The company is also a semi-finalist in VERGE19, a conference for accelerating the clean economy. Help this fellow composites manufacturer and materials supplier by watching Lingrove’s 60-second video and VOTE for their place as a finalist! DEADLINE August 30, 2019.
Lingrove Loft + Autodesk
Lingrove is now an Autodesk Technology Center resident. As part of this initiative, it has established Lingrove Loft, the first biomaterial platform to help designers, engineers and manufacturers explore the amazing strength and beauty of Ekoa, as well as its other benefits, such as vibration damping.
One of the company’s Lingrove Loft* partners (hint, think seating) will be receiving technical support to develop an Ekoa-based product. Stay tuned for updates on this and other Loft projects, including the world’s first phone case made from Ekoa, to be launched later this year.
