TerraVerdae Launches New PHA Resins for Blown‑Cast Films, Injection Molding & Thermoforming

Canada’s TerraVerdae Bioworks has announced the global launch of a new line of polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) resins, now available for customer evaluation. The 13‑year‑old performance bioplastics leader has developed a comprehensive portfolio of PHA‑based polymers and operates dedicated product‑development and pilot‑scale production facilities in Edmonton, Alberta, and Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.

The new formulations are engineered for three key manufacturing processes: blown/cast films, injection molding, and thermoforming. This milestone marks a significant step in TerraVerdae’s decade‑long research and development effort to deliver plastic resins that combine biobased origin, full biodegradability, and the high‑performance attributes required by modern sustainability goals. PHA polymers can be processed as thermoplastics into a wide array of end‑products, making them a leading alternative to conventional, non‑sustainable plastics across agri‑food, packaging, personal care, forestry, coatings, adhesives and related markets.

“TerraVerdae’s PHA technology is attracting global attention as industries and governments intensify efforts to curb plastic pollution,” says President & CEO William Bardosh. “From oceanic plastic accumulation to overflowing landfills, our high‑performance, compostable bioplastics offer manufacturers a viable path to reduce petroleum‑based waste while meeting rigorous performance standards.”
