High‑Performance Kevlar®/Nylon Powder Baskets for Ski Season
These powder baskets combine Kevlar® and nylon to deliver both flexibility and impact resistance. The nylon layer flexes to absorb shock, while the underlying Kevlar® transmits the load, ensuring durability in the harsh conditions of ski season. Chris Hayes refined the fiber orientation using MarkForged’s software. A detailed view of the Kevlar® layers is shown in the screenshot below. Specifications from the Thingiverse listing: For users with a Markforged Mark One, we recommend downloading one of the bundled .mpf files and printing from USB. The .mpf files contain the precise fiber layout, which is not captured in the raw .stl file.
