Sepro Launches First U.S.-Made Robot, Expanding Production in Warrendale

Sepro America marks a new milestone in the U.S. market by unveiling its first robot manufactured domestically. This initiative follows a recent expansion that doubled the size of its Warrendale, Pennsylvania facility, positioning the company to produce large Cartesian robots across the continent – a first for Sepro outside its original French plant.

The showcased five‑axis 7X‑45 model, fitted with a Staubli servo wrist, is among the first 40 large robots slated for production in Warrendale this year. Sepro presented 15 robots at the event, six in its own booth, while the remaining units were displayed alongside leading molding machine suppliers such as Absolute Haitian, Sumitomo Demag, Toshiba, Maruka/Toyo, and Billion.

In addition to hardware, Sepro introduced new software enhancements for its Visual controls platform. The OptiCycle plug‑in applies expert logic to optimize robot and machine cycles, promising up to 40 % faster robot in/out times and 5‑10 % shorter overall molding cycles. The Live Support app connects robots to remote troubleshooting services, enhancing uptime and efficiency.

The company also highlighted its six‑axis articulated‑arm lineup, featuring the 6X‑170 model – one of the smaller Yaskawa‑Motoman units added last year – as well as six‑axis robots from Stäubli. These additions reinforce Sepro’s commitment to delivering versatile, high‑performance solutions for the plastics and molding industry.
