Corporate technology is constantly evolving and in order to stay competitive on the market, they will need to find the perfect balance between hardware and software.

Like numerous companies across the globe, they are struggling with finding the perfect balance between the two. 

A good example of a company that has created a balance between hardware and software is Tesla. Their hardware (the car) is reliable, durable, and one of the world’s safest cars. On the other hand, Tesla’s car’s software is also very substantial and creates what we know today, as one of, if not the best, electric car on the market. 

Another example is Apple, how they have created a great mobile phone (the iPhone) and combined it with their comprehensive IOS system. Again, another company of a perfectly balanced hardware and software company. 

However, not every corporation is able to adapt to this new change, consequently losing new market share, and losing its status as an industry leader. 

Today, the world is a software-driven world, by which a hardware device is not the key selling point, but rather what software is used alongside the hardware.

How can a corporate overcome the hardware and software balance?

Corporates must first define the areas in which they need help. Many products today require not only a hardware functionality but a software-driven one too. In fact, most products today are completely software-driven, only using hardware as a deliverable of the core value.

What we are seeing today are more and more subscription-based models. Which is leading the industry to point toward more software-centered devices, rather than hardware-centric ones.

Corporations today need to combat numerous factors when producing a new device. Not only do corporations need to upgrade their own internal software platforms, but also invest in developing software userbase platforms too. 

To overcome these issues corporations must invest large amounts of time and resources in developing their own internal software teams, and create a closer relationship between their engineers (software and hardware engineers) to create the right unison. 

What immediate solutions can corporations take to combat the hardware and software paradigm?

In many respects, a corporation is usually restricted by the hierarchical process which hinders fast movement within an organization. To move faster corporations must tackle this issue first.
