ATS Marks 25 Years as a Trusted Leader in Production Equipment Maintenance and IT Services
Advanced Technology Services (ATS) proudly celebrates a quarter‑century of excellence in managed production equipment maintenance and information technology solutions. Established in April 1985 to help American manufacturers thrive in a rapidly evolving global marketplace, ATS has become the industry’s go‑to partner for outsourced maintenance.
Originating as a spin‑off of Caterpillar Inc. in Peoria, Illinois, ATS was founded by Richard Blaudow, who leveraged his experience from Caterpillar’s plant operations training program to build a company focused on reliability and innovation. In 1996, Blaudow led a successful buyout, turning ATS into a privately held enterprise that now employs more than 2,000 professionals across North America, Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe, and Asia.
“Reflecting on our first 25 years, we are deeply grateful to our customers for their trust and loyalty and to our employees for being our greatest asset,” said ATS President Jeffrey Owens. “We have grown stronger together and look forward to many more years of service.”
Since its inception, ATS has served high‑profile clients such as Caterpillar, Honeywell, Eaton, Textron, and Johnson & Johnson, proving that entrepreneurial thinking can scale into a global footprint. Today, the company operates offices and service centers in Greenville, SC; Chicago; Detroit; Monterrey, Mexico; Puerto Rico; the United Kingdom; and China.
To honor this milestone, ATS will host a celebration for employees and customers on April 13, followed by the release of a book compiling industry lessons, case studies, and insights from ATS leaders, clients, and founders.
