SKF Launches Affordable TKSA 31 Laser Shaft Alignment Tool

SKF has unveiled the TKSA 31, an entry‑level laser shaft alignment solution designed to simplify the alignment of rotating equipment while keeping costs low. The compact unit shares the proven design of the higher‑spec TKSA 41 but delivers comparable accuracy with a reduced price point. The trade‑off is a slightly smaller measurement envelope and the absence of the camera function that enables photo‑annotated reports in the TKSA 41.

The TKSA 31 features two laser‑driven measurement heads equipped with large‑area detectors. Together with an integrated soft‑foot base, they minimize the need for preliminary alignment and deliver precise readings even in harsh industrial environments. A 40‑degree radial flexibility around the standard 9‑12‑3 o’clock positions allows operators to capture a wide range of shaft angles.

An intuitive LCD touchscreen guides users through each step. Automatic target detection lets technicians keep both hands free to position the shafts, and the device instantly generates a downloadable PDF report that records the application details and alignment metrics. The built‑in machine library consolidates all reports, giving plant managers a clear overview of equipment status.
