Advantech & Lynx Deliver Mission‑Critical Edge Starter Kits for Secure IT‑OT Convergence

Advantech and Lynx Software Technologies have partnered to launch a suite of mission‑critical edge starter kits that bridge IT (information technology) and OT (operational technology) for modern industrial environments.

The lineup features Advantech’s MIC‑770 modular industrial PC and the UNO‑137 embedded automation computer, both engineered for Level 1 direct‑control and Level 2 supervisory‑control scenarios. When paired with Lynx’s MOSA.ic for Industrial, these devices provide a robust, secure OT/IT integration platform.

MIC‑770 PCs deliver high‑performance computing, extensive I/O, and flexible expansion through i‑Modules and iDoor, making them ideal for a broad range of IoT applications. The series can be customized with a variety of processors, from entry‑level to high‑end, and includes ample I/O to function as a data gateway or industrial controller.

UNO‑137 is an industrial‑grade IoT edge gateway built for automation. Its modular design – a base unit plus optional extension kit – supports Advantech’s iDoor technology, allowing seamless addition of industrial fieldbus, I/O, and wireless communication modules.

Advantech & Lynx Deliver Mission‑Critical Edge Starter Kits for Secure IT‑OT Convergence

Lynx’s MOSA.ic for Industrial adds a virtual air‑gap between control automation and other workloads, dramatically cutting integration time for OT edge processing. The platform’s LynxSecure separation kernel ensures strong application isolation, deterministic real‑time performance, and robust cybersecurity protection.

The starter kits empower users to:

Lynx’s separation kernel also introduces unique management technologies that enable large‑scale deployment and compliance with stringent OT‑IT convergence requirements.

Networks across government, military, finance, power, and manufacturing sectors traditionally rely on air‑gapping for security. Pavan Singh, VP of Product Management at Lynx, explains, “Virtual air‑gapping lets OT operators harness advanced data and machine learning without risking operational stability.”

Advantech’s Jon Towslee, Senior Director of Industrial IoT, adds, “Supporting Lynx’s MOSA.ic on MIC‑770 and UNO‑137 lets us offer customers secure, easy edge deployment. We’re committed to simplifying data connectivity for industrial intelligence.”

The combined hardware and software solution delivers IT/OT collaboration with network separation. Key features include:
