AbsInt and Infineon Unveil Enhanced TimeWeaver for AURIX Microcontrollers
AbsInt and Infineon Technologies have joined forces to deliver an enhanced version of AbsInt’s TimeWeaver, now fully compatible with Infineon’s 32‑bit TriCore AURIX microcontroller family. This partnership combines AbsInt’s proven WCET analysis capabilities with Infineon’s Device Access Server (DAS) infrastructure, giving developers immediate, reliable support for AURIX CPUs.
TimeWeaver estimates worst‑case execution time (WCET) by blending static path analysis with real‑time, instruction‑level tracing. Unlike many tools, it is non‑intrusive—no code instrumentation is required, so measured timings remain authentic. The resulting time bounds are essential for designing robust real‑time systems and for refining performance‑critical code.
Using the tool is straightforward: upload the application’s ELF binary, designate the function or task entry point, and connect to the Infineon DAS Trace Server via USB or network. The server streams MCDS trace data directly from the AURIX emulation hardware back to TimeWeaver. The software then computes the worst‑case execution path, visualizes it, and generates comprehensive reports that detail timing contributions and trace coverage for each function.
With this integrated workflow, engineers can quickly pinpoint performance bottlenecks, validate timing guarantees, and accelerate the release cycle for safety‑critical automotive and industrial applications.
