Pixus Introduces Rugged 6U OpenVPX Faceplates with Enhanced Structural Integrity
Pixus Technologies, a leader in rugged embedded solutions, has unveiled a new line of 6U OpenVPX faceplates engineered for extreme applications. The panels feature an extra‑thick extrusion that delivers superior rigidity while also allowing helicoil insertion directly on the faceplate. A 0.8‑inch‑wide internal PCB holder bar serves as a built‑in stiffener, giving the panel added strength and a more secure mounting interface for printed circuit boards.
Optional EMC gaskets and the Pixus Type IV ejector handles—complete with a rugged metal engagement claw—can be added to further protect against environmental stress. For projects requiring different dimensions, 3U‑height or 1.0‑inch‑wide variants are available upon request.
Beyond faceplates, Pixus offers silkscreening and custom cutout services, as well as a full range of ancillary components such as filler panels, handles, card guides, rails, and PCB protective covers. All are available in a variety of VITA and PICMG open‑standard architectures, ensuring seamless integration into existing systems.
