ADLINK Launches HPERC-KBL: A Rugged, SWaP‑Optimized VITA 75 Platform for Military & Aerospace
ADLINK Technology has unveiled the HPERC‑KBL, a next‑generation, extreme‑rugged, SWaP‑optimized VITA 75 computing platform engineered for mission‑critical applications in the most demanding military and aerospace environments. The platform will be showcased alongside channel partners Steatite and Acal at the upcoming DSEI 2019 conference.
Drawing on decades of experience designing and manufacturing computing solutions for harsh operational theatres, ADLINK created its Small Form Factor Tactical Edge Server (SFF‑TES) portfolio to address the growing need for compact systems capable of handling heavy data loads and the physical stresses inherent in edge and fog deployments. The HPERC‑KBL exemplifies the company’s integrated research, design and production capabilities, delivering a versatile solution that meets stringent military and aerospace requirements.
With a focus on balancing SWaP constraints against peak compute performance and scalability, the HPERC‑KBL expands ADLINK’s SFF lineup with an intelligent platform featuring accelerated computing. Like all HPERC models, the new system complies with the VITA 75 standard mounting, employs silent passive cooling, and is available in two variants: a conductive cold‑plate “MC” form factor measuring 223.7 × 177.8 × 98.7 mm and a finned passive‑convection “MH” form factor measuring 304.8 × 150.0 × 130.0 mm. Despite its modest size, the unit houses a quad‑core Intel® Xeon processor and 16 GB of ECC DDR4 memory, delivering robust processing power. An optional NVIDIA Quadro MXM module can be added to accelerate GPGPU workloads. Removable SATA and SD storage provide flexible data collection, while four Gigabit Ethernet ports and six USB ports—each attached to MIL‑DTL‑38999 connectors—offer comprehensive network and peripheral connectivity in demanding edge scenarios.
The enclosure is IP67‑rated, MIL‑STD‑461F/810G/704F/1275E certified, and compact enough to mount beneath a vehicle seat or fit into a backpack, ensuring that constant movement and debris ingress never compromise critical data‑processing tasks.
ADLINK delivers fully integrated, highly cost‑effective, military‑standard COTS/MOTS solutions to system integrators in the defense and aerospace sectors. By designing, manufacturing and certifying its products in‑house, the company guarantees uncompromised integrity and security. Its vertically integrated production model provides rapid development, deployment and long‑lifecycle support, enabling customers to move from data acquisition to decision‑making with speed and reliability. Moreover, ADLINK’s close customer relationships, top‑tier ODM capabilities and commitment to supply‑chain longevity facilitate seamless system upgrades and technology insertions.
