Mouser Electronics Partners with krtkl to Offer Advanced Edge Computing Solutions
Mouser Electronics has announced a global distribution partnership with krtkl, a leading supplier of low‑power, high‑performance embedded hardware and software for edge computing. The collaboration brings three krtkl products into Mouser’s catalog, including the highly‑rated snickerdoodle platform.
krtkl’s snickerdoodle black system‑on‑module (SoM) is engineered as a prototype‑to‑production solution for building secure, high‑integrity IoT devices. Built on a Xilinx Zynq‑7020 SoC and a Texas Instruments WiLink 8 wireless module, the board delivers powerful, power‑efficient computing and AI at the network edge, while remaining cost‑effective and scalable.
The 50.8 × 88.9 mm board hosts a Xilinx Zynq‑7020 SoC with dual 866 MHz Cortex‑A9 cores, a 1.3 M‑gate Artix‑7 FPGA, dual‑band Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth Low Energy, 1 GB LPDDR2 RAM, 125 reconfigurable FPGA I/O pins, and 55 additional I/O pins. Out of the box, snickerdoodle supports Ubuntu Linux, Python, PYNQ, C/C++, and bare‑metal development, and each unit includes an adhesive‑backed copper heat sink.
breakyBreaky is a compact breakout baseboard that exposes the full snickerdoodle pinout via 2.54 mm headers. The 100 × 125 mm board features 270 pins, a 14‑pin Xilinx JTAG header, a 2.54 mm grid plated‑through‑hole prototyping area, a DC power jack, and four adhesive‑backed locking PCB supports.
piSmasher is a single‑board computer (SBC) that builds on snickerdoodle for audio/video processing, networking, edge AI, and general‑purpose computing. It offers dual, FPGA‑connected Gigabit Ethernet interfaces with TSN‑capable PHYs, simultaneous HDMI input and output at up to WUXGA (1920 × 1200 @ 60 Hz), and 8‑channel, 32‑bit/192 kHz HDMI audio in/out. The 9 × 143.8 mm board also includes four High‑Speed USB 2.0 Type‑A hosts, a dedicated 96 kHz stereo audio codec with color‑coded 3.5 mm jacks for line‑in, line‑out, and headset, and access to 25 of snickerdoodle’s reconfigurable FPGA I/O. Additional features include an I²C identification and configuration EEPROM, a 14‑pin Xilinx JTAG header, a DC power jack, and four adhesive‑backed locking PCB supports.
