Würth Elektronik Introduces Advanced PLCC RGB LEDs for Premium Lighting & Industrial Use
Würth Elektronik now offers the WL‑SFTW and WL‑SFTD series of PLCC RGB LEDs, designed for accent and decorative lighting, optical displays, and industrial environments. With individually controllable chips and a PLCC contact layout, these LEDs integrate seamlessly into surface‑mount technology and reflow soldering processes. The WL‑SFTW lineup features three standard packages—3528 with four pins, and 3528 or 5050 with six pins—while the WL‑SFTD series is available in a 3535 package that boasts an IPX6 protection rating.
RGB LEDs generate any hue through additive color mixing, making them ideal for vibrant decorative applications. The WL‑SFTW series delivers compact, high‑intensity light; the 5050 package, in particular, is engineered for environments with strong ambient illumination.
An IPX6 rating guarantees the WL‑SFTD LEDs are water‑resistant and suitable for outdoor use. Their encapsulating resin, with a diffuse lens and UV inhibitors, protects against long‑term solar exposure, ensuring stable brightness over the LED’s lifetime. A wide beam angle and high luminous intensity make these components perfect for full‑color displays in both indoor and outdoor settings.
