GeoTree Solutions Announces Distribution Partnership for Owens Corning's High-Strength CFRP Rebar Across North America
GeoTree Solutions (Houston, Tex., U.S.), a division of ClockSpring|NRI for high-performance infrastructure solutions, reported in May that it has signed an agreement with FRP concrete reinforcement and strengthening company Owens Corning Infrastructure Solutions LLC (Seward, Neb., U.S.) to distribute Aslan 200 carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) bars in U.S., Canada and Mexico.
Owens Corning says these bars have a tensile strength greater than steel, are one-fifth the weight of steel rebar and are impervious to chloride ion and chemical attack. GeoTree president John Hepfinger says the bars are excellent for reinforcing the structure of concrete buildings, and “are well suited to GeoTree’s RenewWrap structural strengthening portfolio of engineered carbon and glass fabric-based, epoxy and urethane-saturated composite reinforcement systems.”
