DIN 17730 Grade G-NiCu30Nb: Superior Corrosion-Resistant Cast Material
The cast material G-NiCu30Nb shows very good resistance to sea water and possesses good corrosion properties against non-oxidizing inorganic acids, especially against sulphuric, hydrofluoric and phosphorous acid, against most organic acids and against alkaline solutions. Furthermore, the material is of excellent resistance to erosion and cavitation. It is the only Ni-Cu-cast material with good weldability. Unlike the nickel-copper materials that are alloyed with silicium, G-NiCu30Nb shows substantially lower strength properties. The material is applied in the shipbuilding, in the chemical industry, in the paper and food industry, for pickling plants, washing machines, as castings for pumps and pump components, fittings, valves and valve seats, nozzles, turbine blades, guide rails, sliding elements and bearings. The casting is well suitable for stress in terms of pressure-tightness.
